Message: I was born in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey. In July 2006, I graduated from Middle East Technical University with a B.S. degree in chemistry. For a M.S. degree, I attended to the graduate program in Chemistry at Middle East Technical University from 2006 to 2008. I have been attending to the PhD degree program in Institute Material science and Nanotechnology at Bilkent University from 2008 to 2013. During my M.S and PhD studies, being under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Engin Umut Akkaya had given me a valuable opportunity to explore the science and art of conducting research. My research interests have been centered on organic and supramolecular chemistry ranging from light harvesting dendrimers, chemosensors, photodynamic therapy reagents, supramolecular polymers to design and synthesis of new Boradiazaindacene derivatives, and mesoporous  silica nanoparticles. I plan to continue my research in supramolecular chemistry in an effort to develop new functional materials for material science and nanotechnology applications. I gained a scholarship from the scholarship from the Scientific Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) to work in the Stoddart group at Northwestern University in 2011. I worked with Professor Stoddart’s group as a visiting pre-doctoral scholar for one year. Now, I recently joined Professor Ali Coskun-MONA lab. I am really excited about being here and working with a dynamic research group. Outside the lab, I enjoy playing clarinet and listening Turkish Classical Music.
